Welcome To The Selling Lounge!

We are a friendly forum where sellers help sellers to help our/your online E-Commerce Business grow by having a place of resources and support along with help in promoting ourselves and each other.

I have been selling on line since 2003 in which I started out with eBay where I was doing very well as a Powerseller until all the fee hikes and changes. I then opened up my first Website almost 2 years ago and have been a member of a few very nice informative E-Commerce Forums and have learned so much about this new world of online selling that I wanted to have all my information in one place to help me succeed and by doing that helping others at the same time.

I have noticed that there is a ton of information out there on the net to help us become successful business owners and there are certain things that we must do in order to get our products out there and noticed and to get the buyers to us.

So I'm hoping that we can all share with each other "our tips" of "what works" and "what does not work".

Content Writing For Your Sites

Your Main Page is Important!
The main page/home page is the first thing that a visitor will see and extremely imperative that you grab their eye and their interest in the first few seconds that they arrive.

Make sure that your content grabs the reader with well written useful information about your product and it is extremely important that your content is spelled correctly and makes sense. Remember you are trying to sell yourself and your product in the first few seconds!

Put yourself in the shoes of your visitors coming to your site. Would you stay there long seeing what you see on your site? What are you looking for when landing on a website?

You need to focus on a few factors. You want to generate high traffic through the search engines and also you want your site to retain your visitors which mean sales and return sales.

You will need to be writing your content for both the search engines and your visitors and this is important to remember while you are writing your content for your main page/landing page of your site.

DO NOT put up a lot of graphics that take away from your content as that can draw your visitors’ eye away from things you want them to focus on.

Make sure that you have keywords in your content and have linking words to either products on your site that you sell or to your categories of the products that you sell. You want to get the traffic on your site and in your site from bots, spiders and search engines. It is also nice looking to have an image of a product that you sell on your main page that links to that product.

DO NOT overpower the visitor with big images and big bold print! Make your site pleasing to the eye and easy to read.

Keep your main page content fresh and new. This means that from time to time you need to change your content around so that it isn’t the same thing all the time. You do not want a boring site.

So remember that your content on your main page should be accurately organized and written well for the advantage of all.

The Valuable Use Of Keywords
Keywords are extremely vital not only to search engines but they make it trouble-free reading for your visitors. Use a variety of keywords in your content to make your text flow freely and assist your visitors fully in understanding what you’re saying. And make sure that you do not overdo it by adding the same keywords over and over again as search engines do not like this and neither will your readers.

MAKE SURE your spelling is correct!!

Use this helpful Keyword Tool to get more ideas:

Your Content Tone And Language
Make your content page uncomplicated to read and make certain that it makes sense and easily understood. The easier your web page content is to read, the easier it can be fully understood and keep your potential buyer there. Keep away from the use of complex language unless it is absolutely essential.

You want shorter paragraphs and sentences to ensure an easy flow of reading for your visitor. Subheadings that clearly state the information in the following paragraph is nice to have to make it easy for your visitor to clearly find what they are looking for.

DON'T FORGET to use linking words and highlighted words as well, but try not to over do it.

Seo (Search Engine Optimization) is one of the most significant factors in search engine marketing for websites to utilize and achieve top rankings and increase unique visitors to your site which in turn equals sales!
