QuicklySell.com was created Sat, February 3rd, 2001 based on the fact that we were tired of Internet websites losing interest in the members that they had established. We noticed a trend that most websites become nothing more than a money machine, and when there is no consistent way to make money, websites lose the focus of what they had started, and eventually fail on the promises to their members.
In searching the internet I personally felt that there had to be a way to create a site that could cater to all internet users. We knew that money had to be a part of this equation since we all know that running a website can become an expensive endeavor. So we established a web design company back in 1999 in conjunction with Jason Aud & Tranz2000 Designs. During the process of creating these websites for our clients, most of our clients asked our recommendations of where and whom we hosted our websites with. At that time we had no real answers because we were hosting with either free or extremely low cost or low quality service hosting companies. This opened up a new area for us, to seek a direction to provide hosting for our clients. After many failed attempts with many companies, we determined that we should start our own hosting company. This allowed us total control of web design and hosting, and also allowed us the speeds necessary to not only provide quality service to our clients, but for our own personal websites as well.
Because I am also an avid auction user, without mentioning individual sites, I will just say that the fees were costing me more than I was able to make worth my while, as this was just a hobby. Because of the ability we now had to create and host any website we wanted, I felt I could run an auction site as well, if not better than the huge Corporate America sites, and provide better service. I didn't like the fact that when sending an email to these Corporate America sites requesting assistance that it would take weeks, if at all, to get a response. Additionally, my specific questions were rarely answered, auto responders don't count. With all of this in mind, I set out to see if it was possible to create an auction site that was geared for users that the Corporate America sites had abandoned in lieu of chasing the all mighty dollar. In January of 2001 I began the search to find a auction script that could assist me. There are few available, and the ones that are, are either expensive, poorly designed, or were not really intended to handle large amounts of auction listings. This process of elimination took about 6 agonizing months with nothing but failure. So we hired our own personal programmer to begin the task of creating a solid and functioning auction. Let me tell you this was not an easy task, and is and will be a constant work in progress.
We are in our 8th year now of existence and we have learned many things. We have learned that without our members our website doesn't stand a chance, and that we must constantly care for you all just like we knew we needed to from the beginning.
Come give us a try, you just might be surprised at the way things are done here. We care about our users and we will help in anyway possible to make your time more enjoyable. We know you have a lot of choices and we thank you for taking the time to look at our site. QuicklySell has become more than an idea, it is becoming a reality with a life of its own. Take a look around, you will see what we mean!
Best Wishes!
